This strategic role within our client's surety division supports Principals and Sales Consultants in managing surety business. The ideal candidate will be based in New York State and able to travel for client meetings. Key Responsibilities:
• Manage a portfolio of contract and commercial surety accounts, analyzing and supporting high-impact clients.
• Provide leadership for the Bond department, offering expertise in prequalification and account strategy.
• Develop and maintain relationships with Surety carriers and industry professionals.
• Cultivate new business and ensure client retention.
• Stay informed on market trends and attend relevant industry events.
• Collaborate with the Surety Service Team Lead on initiatives and performance.
Additional Duties:
• Support miscellaneous tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
• 5+ years in the surety industry (agency experience a plus).
• Property/Casualty License (all lines) and insurance designations required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Expertise in Surety underwriting and knowledge of local construction environments.
• Active involvement in industry groups.
• Ability to generate new business, retain accounts, and cross-sell services.
• Strong organizational, decision-making, and relationship-building skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Erlon/Applied/EPIC preferred.
